BTS Singer Jin On Rumours About Leaving The Band: "Always And Forever"

BTS member Jin released his debut solo album titled Happy on November 15. For those who were speculating if the singer would eventually leave the group to pursue his solo career, Jin addressed the situation in a recent interview. The singer clarified that he will always remain a part of BTS and that he has no plans to leave the band anytime soon.

“The only band I, now and forever, will be part of is BTS. Band music is a genre I'm personally interested in, and I enjoy exploring different styles as a solo artist. But at the end of the day, my roots and connection to music will always be with BTS,” Jin said in a conversation with Billboard.

Notably, Jin is the last member of the group to go solo with his album release. Over the years, the rest of the members including J Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, RM, Suga and V have ventured into solo career paths. When asked what took him so long to drop a solo album, the singer said that he was busy with group activities. “Before enlisting, I was focused mainly on our group activities, so a solo album didn't feel right at the time. But with all the members now taking turns serving, it felt like the right time to share something personal with ARMY who have supported us all along. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I've enjoyed making it,” said Jin.

While Happy marks Jin's first solo album, the singer has released several singles in the past few years. He released a short song titled Super Tuna in December 2021, but the complete version of the song was made available only recently.

Jin also dropped a song titled The Astronaut, in collaboration with Coldplay, before his military enlistment in 2022. He released a new rendition of his hit song Super Tuna in October 2024.
